The Insignia of the 101st Escort

The Insignia of the 101st Escort was designed after the last ship, the Flak Frigate Viper, was commissioned. It was carried on the bulkheads of ships and as a arm patch for the men and women to wear on their uniforms.



Minoan Thera

My map of Thera before the Bronze Age eruption was based on the studies of volcanologists Walter L. Friedrich and  Floyd McCoy.  The placement of the volcanic cones on the central island is based upon Floyd McCoy's paper on the Minoan Eruption.

Another valuable source  of information was the Naval Review fresco that was found on the wall in a house unearthed in Akrotiri.  The fresco clearly shows large, multi-story buildings on the central island.  

Using that information, I have developed the northern side of the central island, which I named Kameni, into the principal city on Thera and the center of power in the Keftiu Empire on Terra.

BILFROST GATEWAY

An Excerpt from Ordeal By Fire:

Asgard is the Capital World of the Keftiu Stellar Empire.  It is located in the Yggdrasil (Ig dra sil) Star system which is 51 parsecs away from Rigel.  It is not possible to jump directly into the system due to the heavy traffic flow to and from Asgard.  A system of four ingress & egress Gateways has been built around the outer edge of the Yggdrasil system.  The Fleet has exclusive use of the Bilfrost Gateway and that is where we will end our hyperspace jump.  

After developing this image, my mind was  drawn to an image of Plato's Atlantis that I had seen before.  No where on this planet do we have a central city surrounded by a ring of harbors.  I thought, what would you see if you were arriving at Bilfrost Gateway in a shuttle?  Maybe this image.
